MY INSPIRATIONS

My mother is a seamstress and me watching her from a young age, saw how her profession gave her joy either in creating new dresses or mending the old ones. Our homes flows in creativity and I was given free rein to create and play with my imagination. So you see, I started young. In junior school, I picked and dried flowers in books during the summer so that I could give my friends bookmarked when the school year started again. I crocheted shawls and hats in the months leading up to winter with the grandma next door (my grandma lives far away and our neighbour's mother lives with them) so that we can keep our loves ones warm against the cold.
Most of the gifts I’ve given over the years to family and friends were appreciated (and some magically disappear *wink*). Almost all of them told me I had a gift, an eye for design and hands of the maker. So I decided, I should sell the things I made. My first business was everything that I could made, be it crocheting stuff animals and swimsuits to embroidering frames. I even create cards from dried pressed flowers and created collages, pretty much anything I could think off. As years gone by, I never stopped creating.
People always ask, where do I get my inspiration from? Well, I am like any other person. I love to watch movies, read inspirational books but loves fairy tales more, find comfort and motivation from my family and friends but most of all, my daily walks in nature. I am also a pet lover and that do help with my imagination. Currently, I have 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs and 3 rabbits that lives with me and hopefully I could take more in the future. Growing up, there was a procession of pets coming in and going out of my lives. I loved and care for all of them and miss those that had pass on. If I am not a jeweller, I would probably be working with animals, most likely in a zoo.
I am currently living my dream. My jewellery business is giving me the freedom to create and design jewelleries that I could constantly be proud off. My main goal, other than growing my business share in the market, would be to fully support and provide a better life for my mother in her matured years (and perhaps, one day, to publish my mother’s poems that she wrote through out her life).
Let me end this story of mine with a quote from an artist I aspire to be,
“The richness I achieve comes from nature, the source of my inspiration”- Claude Monet
